InstructionsInstructions  Rub the margarine into the flour then add the sugar, mixed spice and the mixed fruit, cherries, candied peal. Add a large egg mixed with some milk to make the mixture a dropping consistency. Bake in a 2lb loaf tin (or 7in round tin) for about 90 minutes on Gas Mark 4. It gets a lovely crunchy topping if you sprinkle it with brown sugar before baking.
NotesNotes  This cake freezes well. It is also a good cake to make in a big batch.
