Instructions
Very gently, cook all of these ingredients together with at most a tablespoon of water, for 30 - 45 minutes. Put a tablespoon of plain flour into another pan. Pour a little of the liquid from the mince onto it and blend, then a little more liquid until all is drained into this second pan. Gently bring this to the boil, stirring all the time. When it has thickened, put the meat and this gravy into an oven proof dish. Cook as many portions of potato as there are portions of meat by boiling them for 25 minutes. Drain them and mash them with a little butter, milk and, possibly, salt. Spread the potato on top of the meat. Bake for about 30 minutes (if still warm), 45 minutes if cold and 1 hour 30 if frozen at about Gas mark 4 (160°C) and then serve.
