Dyslexia challenged my faith |

Can you describe what happened to you?
I've always struggled with maths - even basic number work is hard for me.
So when I enrolled as a mature student at the local university,
I decided to try and get some help. The Three Dimensional Design degree,
(ceramics)
I'm doing isn't academic - but it still requires a fair amount of writing and
mathematics, and this increases as the course goes on.
I got in touch with the Learning Support Department that is based in the
university campus, and arranged an appointment to see an education psychologist

Mums in holiday youth ministry |
|
|
What is a Scripture Union camp, and how did you get involved with one?
I first went on a Scripture Union camp as a fourteen year old. I was
roped in by our youth leaders at the last minute. I had little idea of what
to expect before I went but had the time of my life, met some great people and
met with God. That was 1991 and I'm still going 13 years later - only now I
take my husband along and our three children too!

Post-natal depression |
|
|
What was your experience of post natal depression?
For me, I think it started straight after the birth. I needed a planned
caesarean section. When my daughter was born I felt no emotion at all.
This really concerned me as I thought that you were supposed to love your child
as soon as they are born. I didn't feel any desire to hold her, feed her
or change or bath her. I did do all these things, I just did it without
any emotion. I would just leave her crying because I couldn't handle her and
felt that she wasn't mine.

Can you tell us what happened to your family?
I guess you can call us an ordinary family, the average 2.4 children.
There are only 16 months between my two children and things at first
were really difficult, I suffered from PND with my second child and it
took roughly 2 years to fully recover.

Abortion and me |
|
|
|
Singer, Karla Bolanos, shares how having an
abortion many years ago is still very present in her life today and how
she has used her experiences to reach others.
The right to life issue has long been a cause very
dear to the heart of both Catholics and
Protestants. For years, the pro-life agenda
has found the support of conservatives everywhere,
and the Christian Music industry is no exception.
During this time a long list of recording artists
have used their celebrity status as a platform to
champion the life of the unborn, offering
financial support, counselling, as well as adoption
alternatives.
