Evan Almighty Print E-mail
Hilary and I took the kids to see Evan Almighty the other day. What a fantastic film it is! Apart from anything else it was a great family entertainment film, enjoyable by both adults and kids alike. Pram service hand out ~ Love God, love your neighbour Print E-mail
One of the scribes came near and heard them disputing with one another, and seeing that he answered them well, he asked him, ‘Which commandment is the first of all?’ Jesus answered, ‘The first is, “Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one; you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.” The second is this: “You shall love your neighbour as yourself.” There is no other commandment greater than these.’ Mark 12.28-31

Truly I tell you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will never enter it.’ (Luke 18.15-17)

The story of Jesus and the little children is one that can really capture the imagination of our little ones.

If you have more than one child, birthday-party weekends can take over your whole life. Finding the best gift takes hours, wrapping the gift and preparing the card is more time. When it is your child's turn for a birthday party, do you really want to put other parents through the same routine? Will your child really appreciate 20 birthday gifts on top of what you and your family have already given him? Does your child really need more toys?

Being a Change-activist School Governor
Mike Simmonds from "CARE for Education" shares his enthusiasm for governing and encourages Christians to get involved in this challenging but rewarding role. Each school in our country is a cameo of society with many kinds of family situations and backgrounds represented in the learning community. Every school is a place where God can work. That is why I would encourage you to become a change-activist school governor.
