Can you briefly introduce who you are and who is in your family?
I am a Deaf Church of England priest married to a minister in the URC (United Reformed Church). We have one daughter currently age 4 and my husband has two daughters in their 20s by a previous marriage. Dh, dd, dc (dear cat) and I live in Lancashire, having moved up from the Midlands about a year ago.
Hilary and I took the kids to see Evan Almighty
the other day. What a fantastic film it is! Apart from anything else it
was a great family entertainment film, enjoyable by both adults and
kids alike. All the animals and visual gags make sure the youngest ones
are kept happy throughout (although the music was a bit loud for our
youngest occassionally), and the story and action kept the older ones
and the parents happy.

How do they do it-those lovely unflustered
ladies, who arrive well-dressed and serene first thing on Sunday mornings!? How
in years past I watched in envy as their little ducks come in, all fluffed up
and bright, following Daddy duck and Mummy duck to fill up a row - quite near
the front- with never a quack. I mull their great achievements as we arrive (-
do they beat them? do they bribe them? do they practise all week?)
We all need time to relax, recharge
our batteries. Sometimes it doesn't need you to spend any money, just
spend a bit of time. The key here is - don't just think it, do it!
Anyone who has had anything to do with young children knows
how difficult it can be to keep them busy and happy. Here are some ideas for
keeping small people entertained. Please do make use of these ideas or go to the
end of this thread to add your own.
