Kemi's Journal by Abidemi Sanusi |
|
|
What was your first impression?
Published by Scripture Union, this is a girlie book, a kind of Christian
Bridget Jones if your imagination can stretch that far. The title is Kemi's
Journal of life, love and everything and is aimed at a predominantly female,
young audience. It tackles some big themes head on and does so in a way that is
easily readable.

Bible Turn and Learn by Sally Ann Wright |
|
|
What was your first impression?
This book is big, bright and looks very exciting. My two year old was over like
a shot when I appeared with this! You can see from the front that it contains
some of the best loved Bible stories and she recognised Noah’s Ark
straightaway.

When the time was right by Stephen Rand |
|
|
What was your first impression?
I have never followed a devotional book through Advent before so I didn’t
really know what to expect, though I did follow a similar book through Lent
this year. The back cover states that the book goes through some of the unlikely
people God uses in his plan, the failures, the reluctant, the ordinary, the
humble, the faithful, the persevering, and it gave me hope the book might be
for someone just like me.

Where do babies come from? by Sally Ann Wright |
|
|
What was your first impression?
There probably isn’t a parent alive who hasn’t wondered how they might answer
this question, that that’s if they haven’t answered it already! Barnabas (BRF)
do a very good line in these explanatory books and this is no exception.

Have you seen Christmas? by Vicki Howie |
|
|
What was your first impression?
I do love a beautiful hardback children’s book. The cover illustration is of a
small dog looking at a swirling snow scene. You just know the story inside is
going to be beautiful and simple, yet evocative. Barnabas do some great
children’s books too, so I had high hopes.
