Bible Turn and Learn by Sally Ann Wright |

What was your first impression?
This book is big, bright and looks very exciting. My two year old was over like
a shot when I appeared with this! You can see from the front that it contains
some of the best loved Bible stories and she recognised Noah’s Ark
straightaway.
What's it about?
There are stories such as Adam and Eve, baby Moses and the life of Jesus. Each
page is divided into quarters and each quarter has a turning wheel with which
you can turn through lots of the wrong pictures to reach the right picture for
your story. It has instant appeal to toddlers and I did find older children
sneaking over to have a go too!
What did you like about it?
I like the innovative design. Most young children will have books with flaps in
and books with furry, scratchy or squashy bits in but this is a bit different
and as such it would make a great gift.
What didn't you like?
My toddler found it a little bit difficult sometimes to be certain which was
the right picture for the right gap for instance where you need to choose one
of several heads for a body, it just wasn’t as clear cut as toddler books often
are. Also, there were so many stories packed into this book that it made the
reading of it a little disjointed.
What will you still remember a year from now?
One of this book’s main features is exactly that, that it is memorable and
different.
Who would you recommend this book to?
The pictures are big and bright enough for a baby and the turn and learn
circles will appeal to any toddler. I recommend buying this book for any child
you know between the ages of nought and four. It would also be good to read to
a group of crèche children who could take turns in doing the turning!
Can you give us a couple of good quotes from the book?
God helped Joshua win the battle. The priests blew their trumpets and the city
walls fell down.
The huge crowd of people was very hungry. Jesus made sure
there was food for them all.
