I often use A Feast for Advent.  This year I may well re-use the Ann Voskamp printables.  I've just spend quite some time trying to find a link but found it eventually

I've just picked up this book intending to read it through, but having read the introduction, I might use it as Advent readings this year - about waiting, it could be used for group studies, too.

The author is the wife of a local vicar, and suffers from severe ME ... she knows all about waiting :( I bought it, not because I know her husband, but because it was recommended by someone and having made a start, I'm really looking forward to it :)

Didn't wait and started yesterday - it's lovely. Tanya takes four different stories of waiting and writes a dramatised account, eg of Abram's story from Sarah's point of view. Beautifully written, each section has questions to prompt you to consider the Bible story, and there are group studies at the end. Excellent.

Would it be suitable for Lent Groups?

I’ve decided to reread The Women of Christmas (Liz Curtis Higgs) and do a simplified version of a Jesse tree.

I was in a panic yesterday thinking we should have had the advent candle for last weekend, but I think it is this next Sunday - phew. December seems to have crept up very quickly.

I plan to read "The One True Story" by Tim Chester. Did it last year & I remember it was very good.

We stirred up the pudding on Sunday and prayed the Collect - always gives me tingles - we're nearly there!

And I've done the cakes but not mincemeat yet.

And we wrote to Father Christmas and sent the letters by fire which magically changed colour as it always does!
