As it's now mid May, and as EM pointed out that perhaps we needed a new chat thread, being as it's barely new year any longer.....here we are. The Cafe - the place to be!

Draw up a chair, grab a coffee / tea / whatever drink takes your fancy, and dive in, sharing what's happening in your day!

:)

In case you want to check back on the previous chat, this link will take you to yesterday afternoon in the old thread:

2016 New Year's Cafe - posts from yesterday pm onwards

I would like to chime in on the test debate and say to Em and Merry please tell their children that as the teacher I am heartily tired of teaching to do tests too. Ours are different but the same IYKWIM but I will be incredibly glad for them to finish this week and then I can just do the testing for the report marks and then finally actually teach , which is after all what I am supposed to do.
On the flip side I found a lovely letter onfacebook about our NAPLAN tests which was written by a teacher to her students, reminding theme of what is important.

Home wiht dd today who is not well,

Our Lord reigns for ever and ever.
ME, DH, DS15 and DD13.

Is this café licensed? If so mine's a dry white wine and I don't care how early in the morning it is, I can always pretend I'm in Oz ;)

Praying you have a good day.

I've done some early morning work but am not going into the office today - violent vertigo attack which started last night. Think I'll curl up and try and pray purposefully.

Ugh noo. Hope it passes quickly.

Whilst you're praying, perhaps you would kindly remember aslan who is on his final day at his selection conference (for possibly going onto be ordained). Today he has a meaty interview about vocation - so all about his calling! Important stuff!

In the meantime I'll remember you in my prayers. I've had dizziness in the past (though not to the extent you suffer with it), so can imagine a bit of how grim you feel. xx

Afternoon. I have visited a friend for a cup of tea and spent the rest of morning looking after a poorly Dd1. She has had an awful.migraine, with the whole nine yards of sickness and vision disturbance. She's just having a bath. Lunch now, and then some academics with ds. Two more sleeps and I go on retreat *excited*

Hope your DD is feeling better EM

I've been crashed out all day but will need to get going in a bit to go and help at guides. Of the 6 girls I think 4 are in Y6 so will be mid SATS -so expecting them to either be subdued or very noisy letting off steam.
