That sounds fair enough - hope I didn't sound too critical

Mummy, it's interesting you consider the grumblings in your head to be sin. Jesus was in the desert for 40 days being tempted the Bible says. It doesn't say Satan tried to tempt Jesus, it says He was tempted. That means Jesus considered the offers Satan was making, battled with those temptations and probably had grumblings in His head if He was tempted and Jesus didn't sin. Personally I think the only time grumblings in your head moves into sin is if you voice it to others that might affect God's work in some way, so grumbled to your family, other church members which might cause dissent and stir up trouble where otherwise there would be none and I'm sure that's why Jesus took himself off into the desert was so the grumblings in His head, His battles, didn't affect others. So personally I don't think there's anything wrong with grumblings in your head per se. But that's jmho.

Morning ladies. What be you all up to this bank holiday weekend?

I've a guest here who leaves later this morning and I chose to ignore the washing up caused by meals and drinks etc in order to spend time with her so my day will be working through that, probably in batches letting each rack full dry by itself before putting it away and washing the next lot. I have absolutely no plans apart from trying to keep to my exercise timetable. Monday's my exercise rest day so I will mull over what to task myself with that day. Today is a cardio day so I shall do a 30 minute spin class.

Life is often a daily struggle but thanks to friends and the Sams I muddle through.

Regarding the listening retreat, I have come to appreciate what I think our elder's board chair is trying to do. However, I think we really should have started out several steps back from this as I am not sure we are all in a place to be able to do it. I do also believe that God will honour our willingness to try, and whatever happens, I think it will be a positive experience. I have repented of initial grumblings, even if they were only inside my head. I think God is leading us (as a church) on an interesting journey, but I have a suspicion that we are only at point a or b when we think we are at point g or h. Hmmmm

Some wise thoughts, mummy. One other thing to bear in mind is that peoples personalities differ and affect the way they relate to, and hear from, God. Some might hear clearly from God on a quiet day, others might receive more clearly elsewhere ... and God's purpose may be to let you wait until a time of his own choosing.

I'd still enjoy a quiet day at any opportunity, but would hesitate to expect anything of God at that specific time :pray1:

You could slow them down by gathering some friends in the road for a chat? It might make you famous!

It is very windy but fine.   We actually watched on TV - much warmer and we could follow more of them further!   Fascinating to see the crowds on bits of road where my smallish car pretty well touches both sides!
