My house is full of trailing adaptors! We have a pretty normal number of power sockets, probably, but there are no where near enough. I keep thinking of getting more wired in.

eg I have a double socket in the 4 corners of my lounge/diner, but 3/4 have a 4 socket trailing adaptor to allow us to plug everything in.

How many sockets would be idea for each room, in your experience?

In my room, by the bed, I need two for chargers (phone, iPad), the lamp and sometimes the laptop (when needing to finish the church service etc!). Oh and for hair dryer n straighteners (when - rarely - used ... working mum, so usually brush and put in ponytail!)

Shall we say 4-6 per person?!

We have 6 sockets in our kitchen which is about right for us - fridge, microwave, slow cooker, kettle and toaster could all easily be in use at once, and one for the iron, tablet or laptop (if I'm ironing and watching something on my tablet I have to unplug the slow cooker but that's no problem)

Dining room/office we have to use an extension as one side of the room needs router, printer and piano plugged in and there's only one double socket there.

Living room has enough (4 doubles) but we have to use extensions as they're blocked by furniture.

Boys have extensions in their rooms as they have multiple screens on their computers.

Four double sockets in our new kitchen, two double sockets in the new bedrooms. I insisted on plenty in the new kitchen as the old one had just two. Elsewhere we rely on a few extension leads as some rooms have one or two single sockets in stupid places.

We've just had some more put in and I'm regretting I didn't think to add yet another double socket while I had the opportunity!

Our bedroom has 2 double sockets but they ought to be each side of the bed & aren't so one double is barely used while the other has an extending adapter to give me a double for my lamp & charger plus aanother adaptor so DH still has a double for his charger & lamp.

Kitchen is fine. 4 doubles.

Lounge has nowhere near enough. We have one double by the telly which has an 8 way plugged in one side and a 6 way in the other as for the combination of TV, amp, speakers, chrome cast, freeview, DVD player, x-box, wii u, recorder some of which have more than one plug. Then we have a double behind the bar for the lamp & that's fine, a double behind the bookcase for lamps, a double near the sofa for chargers and a double with a four way for chargers and a lamp. At Christmas when we have lights all round the loung we bring 2 more 4 ways into play
