I have had a shocking run of bad health, and now I am working, I really need to knock it on the head. I am terribly run down but don't have the option of a week in bed, not that I am sure it would do much good anyway. I am battling off another cold, have a persistent wound on the side of my tongue that won't heal and just feel rubbish. I need to boost my immune system, but beyond vitamin c I really don't know how to do that. Anyone have any tips?

That sounds tough. Things to consider:

Vitamin D3 - we'll not be making it from the sun this time of year at this latitude.

Mulitvitamins with zinc & iron and possibly a separate B vitamins. Omega oils. I've used on line shops such as zip-vit.

Good bacteria - kefir or some other source - boost your gut's immune system.

I use Healthspan formulation vita w iron & for starflower oil. Echinacea is also supposed to help immunity but my immune system is ok at the moment so I don’t take it. I will if I have a run of bad health.

I make sure I get my 5 a day and also lots of vitamin c through orange juice & veggies

Yes I take Echinacea and an A-Z multivitamin and mineral tablet every day and that really boosts immunity. That's what Echinacea is for.

Often stress brings out a bunch of viruses and despite the job being great and enjoyable, getting out there into the world of employment, customer services, tons to learn, learning how to relate to customers, colleagues and the boss is all stressful. You may need medication to fend of somethings.

Hope you recover soon EM.

No doubt I will need something, but I can't get to the GP until Friday next week.

How about thieves oil to banish the bugs? I keep meaning to look into essential oils more...
