Exam time again - Ds2 has a spoken english exam on either this tues or wed, for GCSE. It's a really important thing (has to give a 2 mins speech, no full script, only cue cards allowed, on a person he has chosen, and why they should have a statue put up in their honour - he's chosen Ayrton Senna :action-smiley-021: ). This spoken exam provides a whole third of the GCSE. You can imagine with a lad with speech and language difficulties due to being deaf and having AS, this is a really big deal. Teacher rang me yesterday as they felt he'd 'shut down' and wouldn't modify or take comments on board. My rather blunt approach last night seems to have helped - but please pray he can memorise it, and in particular deliver it well, without mumbling or being monotone (the most likely outcome).

Thanks

:action-smiley-021:

Lord God, we lift Fru's DS2 to you, asking that you will be in all the preparations for this exam and will help him to show just how capable he is when the day comes. Amen

whoo boy, been working with him again since lunch. With his full script (which they're not allowed to use, only cue cards) he can do it really well, fluent and good intonation. With only the cue cards, he's floundering.

barbara, your prayer is lovely - just now I'm feeling it needs praying a hundred times over :action-smiley-021:

Thank you for praying. He's just finished first lesson at school, where he would have done his trial run. I do hope the teacher can see how hard he's worked. Please continue to pray for him for the 'real thing' which is either tomorrow or Wednesday (actually, I hope they're able to tell them today when it will be)

thank you for praying - he said he felt it went really well, and the teacher could see an improvement following our hard work over the weekend.

This thread is going to have a lot of use in the coming weeks!

Please pray for ds2, tomorrow (Monday). He has an English exam at 9am. Esp pray that he understands what the question is asking, and that he actually "answers" it. Thanks

Our church teenagers start their exams this week - I think two of them (we don't see the others often enough to know!) - one wants to do something with art and the other wants to be an actress

my ds2 seems very unphased at the moment, which could be a good thing. Equally, might not be.... :action-smiley-021:

Lord, we pray for all our teenagers facing exams at this time, esp we pray for my ds2 and cm's ds1 tomorrow with the English exam. Help them to focus, concentrate, and have the confidence to do what they need to do. Amen
